Monday Muddle

This blog is supposed to be my cartoon-animation-portfolio-blog, but I’m having trouble finding examples of my old cartoon animation work to put up. . . .

Part of the problem is that right now I’m living in Toronto, Ontario, but most of my stuff is in a storage locker in Victoria, B.C., which is 2111 miles away!

(I don’t have a picture of my storage locker but here is a picture of some people from the storage locker website.)

Another problem is that most of the animated cartoons I work on are really stupid and I keep forgetting to save examples of my work.

But I WILL start saving things for my portfolio, in future! If I get another job. I will, I will!

In the meantime I’m going to keep looking around in the boxes in my apartment and find SOME kind old animation stuff, I hope, I hope. . . .

Little Lamb

The first lamb picture I put up was pretty ugly, and was not growing on me, so I'm replacing it with this picture of Lambchop.
The point I wanted to make with the lambs is this:  Although lambs are used as a religious symbol – which is a big honour – lambs are also really NICE . . . so let's be nice to lambs!

This Man Must DIE

A couple of years ago I bought a DVD of Claude Chabrol's
This Man Must DIE (Que la bĂȘte meure). I had never heard
of this film before, but I really liked the title This Man Must
DIE
.

The film turned out to be a very good one, and the french people
from 1969 looked interesting, so I made some sketches.
This is not a sketch of me sketching – it's the hero of the film
writing in his diary
.

I won't give away the beginning or the end of the film! All
these sketches are from around the middle.

Although the FILM was good, the DVD was bad quality.
Whenever people moved around they looked blurry, even
just this man talking.

"I must convince Decourt to go boating."

Decourt: "Say, don't you think it's getting a little choppy?"
Thenier: "No, on the contrary, the sea is perfect."

I'm hoping to make some more sketches from DVDs – if I can find
the time – as my contribution to international film-and-
DVD appreciation!

Bloggy Dog

It's Wednesday, March the 19th, and my blog is twelve days old.
My blog might look quite immature, but PLEASE don't chide and scold.
Although I'm getting long in years and ought to know what's up,
My blog is short in BLOGGY YEARS, just like . . .

It's Tuesday . . .

. . . that gloating,
head-in-
the-air-floating,
gnu-eyed,
few-inches-wide,
shirt-cuff or ashtray headed,
never-wedded,
bad
news’d,
abbreviated-to-tues’d
crumpled-paper-nosed,
thorn-of-the-rose’d,
many-toothed or toed,
evilly-mustachioed,
tongue-sticking,
candle-wick-licking,
frightening freak,
bad
day of the week,
inspirer of fear,
illustrated here,
so stay in your bours,
come back in twenty-four hours,
then
chirk up and raise up a toast!
to a nicer post!
